A steel drum or pan drum is a chromatically pitched percussion instrument. The sticks used to play the drums are tipped with rubber, creating a softer melodic resonance. Although this instrument originated in Trinidad and Tobago, its style has spread its influence throughout many Caribbean nations including the Bahamas.
