Established in 1885, the Sarajevo tram network is one of the oldest in Europe. It was originally built as a test line for the tram in Vienna by the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Sarajevo’s network sustained significant damage during the siege of the city in the 1990s, but the tram is fully operational today.
